Meeting/Summer School Venue

The Meeting/Summer School will be organised in Alushta (The Big Yalta region), Crimea, Ukraine. This town is located 48 km east of Simferopol (capital of the Crimea) and is easily reachable from International airport "Simferopol". The town was founded in the 6th century CE by Emperor Justinian. It is situated on the Black Sea on the road from Gurzuf to Sudak, as well as on the Crimean Trolleybus line.
The meeting room and accommodation for participants will be organised in SPA hotel "Dubna" which is located at Rabochy ugolok (Workers' corner), just outside the town centre. Attractive surroundings of Alushta provide a unique opportunity to enhance interaction between conference participants. Alushta is a small town, and everything is within walking distance.

How to reach Alushta

When arriving in Ukraine by plane at Kiev Borispol International Airport, information about how to travel to and from the Airport can be found on the Borispol Airport Official Website. The easiest way to travel to Simferopol is by plane or train. There are a number of flights to Simferopol; Ukraine International Airlines Ukraine International Airlines has a morning and an evening flight each day from Kiev. Turkish Airlines has a daily flight to and from Istanbul, with international connections to just about anywhere in the world. You can get to Simferopol from Kiev by low-cost company Wizz Air. Aerosvit usually has 3 flights per day from Kiev. AirBaltic flies from Riga in May-October.
To get to Alushta, you can take the over mountain trolley bus. Go across the car park in a rightwards direction to a large 'KRIMTROLLEYBUS' sign. The trolley system is extremely slow and basically just a really old bus that is electrically powered. Instead you can take a mini bus, cheap and regular, or taxi (about 25 UK pounds Currency converter) direct to the hotel.


Citizens of some countries don't need to apply for a visa to travel to Ukraine. This concession is extended to citizens of the United Kingdom and other European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) states, the United States of America, Canada and Japan. Participants who need a visa to enter Ukraine should submit the necessary application to the nearest diplomatic or consular representative of Ukraine in country of their residence. Organizing Committee will sent the Formal Invitations for getting Ukrainian visa by request of participants.
